This is a Charismatic Renewal Enrichment and Teaching Event (CREATE) scheduled to run quarterly on the 4th Tuesday with the purpose to:

• Introduce and welcome Catholics to charismatic experience
• Provide introduction and growth in the charisms through:
• Praise and Song
• Personal Witness–thanksgiving in one’s life, for God’s glory
• Sound Teaching, Instruction, Practice in Gifts: e.g. prophetic word, interpretation
• Scripture Integration: Lectio divina and small group Faith Experience
• Healing Prayer Ministry

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be in the small chapel 5-6 PM

Beginning at 7:00 pm there will be a welcoming with songs of praise and thanksgiving in the church. Mass begins at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. Jack Gleason, Pastor of Church of St. Mary, as celebrant. The church is located at 3188 East 22nd Street (near 21st & Harvard). Dear Friends,

We express thanks to Fr. Chris Daigle for his priestly service in celebrating the most holy Eucharist on May 27, 2011.  After his homily reminding us of love as the most important gift God gives us, he spontaneously called forth volunteers to pray for others for Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  As many as fifty people formed lines and in faith came forward for release of the Spirit’s gifts.   We then offered back during the Offertory all the gifts we had received.  Communion, the summit, was precious and sweet, and afterwards during meditation several shared affirming words of knowledge.   Mass was  blessed by the joyful praise and freedom of worship — a memorable experience of empowerment.  Alleluia!  If unable to attend, know you were still lifted up!

When: Seven consecutive Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 PM, beginning April 12 through May 24, 2012.

Church of the Madalene, Aquinas Hall

This series entitled Life in the Spirit is a seven week formation program. Its purpose is to help establish or deepen a person’s relationship with Jesus Christ, and lead the participant to experience an awakening of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit bestowed at Baptism and Confirmation.   

The structure of the program consists of seven 2 hour sessions. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on scripture and to journal during the week in between sessions. During Week 5, members of the group will be prayed over for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The session titles are:

• Week 1: God’s Love
• Week 2: Salvation
• Week 3: New Life
• Week 4: Receiving God’s Gift
• Week 5: Praying for Baptism in the Holy Spirit
• Week 6: Growth
• Week 7: Transformation in Christ

The flow of the meeting is as follows:

• Open meeting with a prayer and welcome
• Break into small discussion groups to share previous weeks assignment and journaling
• Each small group facilitator will  prayer  for each member of their small group
• A member of the group will lead a prayer for the small group facilitator
• Teaching for the week
• Close with prayer

Jesus said to his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” He asks us the same question. It is important to offer prayers of reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference with which his Sacred Heart is offended. We are called to intercede for the church and the salvation of all souls.

Won’t you come and spend an hour with us at 9 pm on the first Friday of every month? Much fruit will be borne in your life from this good sacrifice. Our Lady told the three little children in Fatima:” Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; …there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them.”
