We invite you to join us on the first Friday of every month for Eucharistic adoration and prayers of reparation at 9 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Church located at 1436 North 67th East Avenue (near Pine & Sheridan). Dec. 4th will be the next time .

Jesus said to his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” He asks us the same question. It is important to offer prayers of reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, offenses, and all other evil acts committed against His Sacred Heart. We are called to intercede for the church and the salvation of all souls.

Won’t you come and spend an hour with us at 9 pm on the first Friday of every month? Much fruit will be borne in your life from this great sacrifice.

God is doing a deep and thorough healing in his people so we will be able to “stand firm” no matter what we face in the future. It is amazing how many layers need to be peeled to receive a complete healing of wounds that we have inflicted on ourselves through our own sinfulness or received through others’ sinfulness. Truth needs to penetrate our sub-conscious. Invite the Lord into these areas that need reconciliation. The fire of his love will burn out all the darkness of sin and cleanse us. After enduring purification, we will receive hearts of love–his heart–a heart of gold. This is all part of “treading the winepress”, of being crushed like grapes that others may have life and have it abundantly. So as we cooperate with this process of becoming whole we are actually like evangelists helping save souls as we offer our lives and all that we are for God’s purposes–for His divine will. His purpose is for all to be made whole–to be holy, to be santified by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Empowerment of the Spirit – Intercessors of the Lamb Formation Program

When: Seven consecutive Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m., beginning April 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13 & 20, 2010.

This seven-week course entitled, Empowerment of the Spirit is a formation program designed by Mother Nadine Brown of Intercessors of the Lamb in Omaha, Nebraska. Its purpose is to enable groups to come to a deeper awareness, understanding, and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit’s movement in their lives and in the lives of those around them.

The structure of the program consists of seven 90-110 minute sessions. It is based on the St. Ignatian style of spirituality. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on scripture and to journal during the week in between sessions. During Week 7, members of the group will be prayed over for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

The session titles are:

• Week 1: The Spirit of Holiness
• Week 2: The Uncreated Gift
• Week 3: Help of the Church
• Week 4: Hope for the Third Millennium
• Week 5: Desire for the Gifts
• Week 6: Clothed with Power
• Week 7: Empowerment of the Spirit

The flow of the meeting is as follows:

• Open meeting with a prayer and welcome. (5 minutes)
• Ask for any comments or general observations.
• Break into small discussion groups to share previous weeks assignment and journaling. (20-30 minutes)
• Each small group facilitator will lead prayer over each member of their small group. Then a member of the group will lead a prayer over the small group facilitator. (allow approx. 5 minutes for each member)
• Listen to the CD of the week by Mother Nadine. Encourage note taking. (36-54 minutes)
• Close with prayer.
• Hand out the main points and assignment sheets for the upcoming week.

September Mass/Word of Knowledge: Take my hand. My spirit will lead you. Follow me. This is the same spirit that led Jesus to suffer and go to the cross. Take the message seriously. Sometimes he leads us to the desert.

When you pray, pray in the Kingdom. If you have needs and need supplies, pray in the Kingdom.

On Friday October 25, 2009 there was a charismatic Mass at the Church of Sts. Peter & Paul sponsored by Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services of the Diocese of Tulsa. Fr. Elkin Gonzalez, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul,  celebrated the Mass. Adoration was from 6:00-7:00 pm . Songs of thanks and praise began at 7:15 pm with Mass following at 7:45  pm in the chapel.  Healing prayer teams were available after Mass.

May Mass/Word of Knowledge: You are weary, my children. Come to me and I will refresh you. You are anxious, my children. Cast your care upon me.

Listen to me, listen to me, my people.

My word is truth and life. Thank you for coming to receive my word, my truth, my life. Just as the workers are making your church like new, I am making your hearts new.

Stir up the gifts, speak with the gifts I have given you for my good and for my glory. I have caused you to have these gifts. Let the angels and saints around you stir up these gifts.

Open your heart to receive all the graces coming upon your life.

April Mass/Word of Knowledge: The images from Ezekiel 47 were shared. The water springing up from the temple became a river that was deep enough to swim in.  When this water empties into the Sea the water there becomes fresh. Swarms of  living creatures  live wherever the river flows. Fruit trees of all kinds  grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves  never wither, nor  their fruit fail. Every month they  bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit serves for food and their leaves for healing. Where the river flows everything will live. We are the sons and daughters who have inherited this land. We are called to this deep river; we are called to be the refreshing springs for others. We are to bring Jesus. Trust in the Sovereign Lord, and call upon his name. He will make us living waters. 

March Mass/Word of Knowlwedge: Trees do bend though straight and tall, so must we to others…Look full in his wonderful face…

You see the rain.  You hear the rain.  You taste the rain.  You smell the rain.  You touch the rain.  Now taste and see the goodness of the Lord for His rain is the rain of the Spirit that brings cleansing, healing, refreshing.  See Him.  Hear Him.  Touch Him.  Feel Him.  Taste and see the goodness of the Lord. 

February Mass/Word of Wisdom: Open your heart and invite Jesus to fill your soul and life with his presence. Calling the Holy Spirit upon us can  bring  joy and peace, but we need to remember that the Holy Spirit drove Jesus out to the desert. When we open our hearts we are asking for the Holy Spirit to come into our lives and change whatever needs to change.

January Mass/Word of Knowledge: You shall know the truth and it shall set you free. I am the way, the truth and the life. I have set you free. You will have restoration of your relationships. You will be free from what causes  division. In me you  have fullness of life, fullness of joy. It gives me great joy to see joy from your heart. You are set free from the limitations of your mind. It is your responsibility to stand and wait for what you have asked for. This is what the new covenant is all about.

October Mass/Word of Knowledge: Community is what we are called to be–brothers and sisters in unity caring for one another’s needs. This is powerfully demonstated by praying for those in our midst that want or need prayer.

September Mass/Word of Knowledge: We can only be free through the Holy Spirit; we can only be free to use our gifts and to serve through the Holy Spirit, but just because we have the Holy Spirit does not mean we are free. We have to be set free; we have to experience a release of the gifts. Beg God for the grace to experience this release. God wants us to be free to worship in spirit and truth.  “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” Jn 4:24

August Mass/Word of Knowledge: ”You are hiding your gifts!” We have been given these gifts–these charisms are for a purpose. “   In the latest “Pentecost Today” magazine, Aggie Neck used some key quotes from the International Colloquium on charisms and the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church.” The quotes were: 

§  “The importance of charisms is they are a powerful factor for evangelization, a chance for the church…;

§  The gospel proclamation is inseparable from charisms—signs will accompany…;

§  Charisms are co-essential to the structure of the church. Our duty is to revive them.”

“If my people called by my name would humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and TURN from their wicked ways… I will heal their land.” (2 Chron 7:14) Are we convicted that the Lord wants to lead us into ways of deeper truth and show us His ways? ” Isaiah 55:8 says…neither are your ways my ways.” The Lord speaks about a people who SEE with their eyes, and HEAR with their ears, and UNDERSTAND with their hearts, and TURN and are healed. Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, spoke of his desire for the church to move from our head to our heart. As we desire and pray for the grace of this action of the Spirit to take place within us, we can receive a greater gift of understanding which will bring us healing as we respond to the great love of God. This gift is meant to cause conversion, metanoia, a turning back to listening to the Lord by spending time with Him in His presence, by pondering deeply His Word, by “doing what He tells us to do” as spoken by Mary at the Wedding Feast at Cana.

 In the beautiful lyrics and refrain of the song, “Hosea” the Lord beckons, “Come back to me with ALL your heart; don’t let fear keep us apart; trees do bend, though straight and tall; so must we to others call. LONG HAVE I WAITED FOR YOUR COMING HOME TO ME AND LIVING DEEPLY OUR NEW LIFE.  This is the turning back–the living deeply with our whole heart that the Lord is inviting us to enter again.

T-Pray that Christians will be drawn together into deeper relationship with God and each other

U-Pray for unity where there is division in the Body of Christ

R-Pray for conversion of our hearts and restoration of broken families, communities, and countries.

N-Pray for the nations, especially those at war. 

Let us fulfill the word in 2 Chronicles and TURN to the Lord as never before.
